Melinda Roaldsen

Dr. Melinda B. Roaldsen is Head of the Clinical Research Department at the University Hospital of North Norway, Associate Professor and Vice Head of the Department of Clinical Medicine at UiT, The Arctic University of Norway. Her PhD was on “Aspects on Recanalisation Therapies for Acute Ischaemic Stroke”. Roaldsen is a medical doctor and since 2009 worked in the neurological, neurosurgical and ophthalmological field during her clinical career up until she was recruited to leadership positions.
Roaldsen is the COO of the SAP-E and ESO guideline board member. She has experience with several international multi-centre RCTs; IST-3 and was Trial Manager of TWIST, the largest RCT ever performed in wake-up stroke. She is also the lead author of several Cochrane reviews.
She suffered a stroke in 2023 due to an arterial dissection and has since then been advocating for positive change and raising awareness about stroke.
