Dr Sofia Kitmeridou

Sofia Kitmeridou graduated from the 1st experimental High School of Thessaloniki, ‘’Manolis Andronikos’’. She obtained the Degree of Medical Laboratory Technologists from the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki in 2003 and the Degree in Medicine from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2009. She holds the Postgraduate Master Diploma “Cerebrovascular strokes” from the Department of Medicine of the Democritus University of Thrace and is a PhD candidate at the same institute. From 2011 to 2016 she worked as rural service doctor at the University Hospital ‘’NOCSAE Baggiovara’’ and the hospital of ‘’Sassuolo’’ in Modena, Italy. She obtained the title of medical specialty of Neurology, from the 2nd University Neurological Department of the AHEPA University Hospital (10/2021).
From November 2021 to May 2024 she worked as Neurology Consultant in the Department of Neurology of the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis, Greece. She also participated in the project: “Study of the interrelationships between neuroimaging, neurophysiological and biomechanical biomarkers in stroke rehabilitation (NEURO-BIOMECH in stroke rehab)” (MIS 5047286), implemented under the action of “Support for Regional Excellence”, funded by the Operational Program “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation” co-financed by Greece and the European Union. From May 2024 to April 2025 she worked as a liberal profession in emergency department (PS) of hospital SS. Annunziata
