Paul Quinn
Stroke survivor and Patient advocate
I’m a 63 year old, predominantly London based male who suffered two significant strokes in the late summer of 2023. The prognosis at the time led to early retirement from running a substantial private business. Fortunately I made an almost complete cognitive recovery. In the last two years I have established Stroke-Survivors.org a not for profit organisation that creates peer to peer support groups, and advocates strongly for meaningful involvement by those with lived experience in local, national and international policy making around stroke care, prevention and life after stroke.
In recent months I have re-entered the commercial sector but my primary focus remains stroke policy and stroke survivor related. In my spare time I write poetry and pursue a life-long hobby of analysing football finance and governance.
I have a wonderful family including two (now grown up) children whose
support and love has been invaluable.
