From experience to expertise: Survivor-led models that strengthen stroke research, policy, treatment and care
We are delighted to invite you to register your interest in our workshop at The European Life After Stroke Forum (ELASF) on the 9-10 March 2026 in Stockholm.
This workshop builds on our 2025 ELASF session “By survivors, for all”. This year, we move from ideas to practical models that can be used in real settings, with a focus on ways for stroke survivors to be involved in decisions to improve stroke models across:
- Research
- Policy
- Treatment and care
What is the workshop about?
“Survivor leadership” is still a new idea in stroke. In this workshop, we look at it in a practical and clear way. We will explore:
- How stroke survivors can help make decisions, not just give feedback
- How stroke survivors can be involved from the start, not added later
- How this can work in everyday services and programmes
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for anyone who wants to improve life after stroke, including:
- Stroke survivors and carers
- Clinicians and therapists
- Researchers and academics
- Stroke support organisations
- Programme leads and service designers
You do not need expert knowledge. You only need an interest in working together to improve stroke leadership in stroke research, policy, treatment and care.
