European Life After Stroke Forum 9-10 March 2026

Life after stroke needs action

Stroke remains one of the leading causes of death and long-term disability in Europe. Yet for many survivors and their families, support after hospital discharge remains fragmented, under-researched and often under-prioritised.

Life after stroke is where recovery, quality of life and long-term outcomes are shaped and where collaboration across disciplines is most urgently needed.

What is the European Life After Stroke Forum?

The European Life After Stroke Forum is the only European conference dedicated to life after stroke.

It brings together healthcare professionals, researchers and academics, policymakers, stroke support organisations and people with lived experience. All with one shared goal: to improve life after stroke across Europe.

We also loved the Forum’s inclusive nature, creating a holistic view of the post-stroke experience.”

“[I liked how there was a] strong patient voice and the sense that the agenda was driven by the patients.”

“It was very well organised, and all the stroke survivors’ stories were so powerful. All the talks I attended were excellent.”
